The Language of Love Part II: Why Does God Allow Bad Things to Happen?
by Pat Boone
Last month, I started a discussion dealing with different aspects of God's love, specifically, my thoughts on trusting God. I concluded that I couldn't help you trust God, only God can do that - and then only if you ask him to help.
I continue my discussion on the language of love this month, hoping to adequately answer: Why Does God Allow Bad Things to Happen?
So let's get right into it, shall we?...

Man Sues God, God Counter-sues
by Rev. James L. Snyder
Just when you think you have all of the idiots in the world organized and in their proper place, someone comes forth to challenge the number one position. There might be an epidemic of idiots in our world, because there sure is a large amount and it seems to be growing every day.
They come in a variety of sizes and shapes and dispositions. There are political idiots, religious idiots, celebrity idiots and just plain downright stupid idiots. Of course, the stupid idiots have somehow crossbred with all the other idiots...

Great Expectations?
by John McGough
Live long enough and you get to experience many things. Marriage, children, career changes, the Boston Red Sox winning 2 World Series, the list can go on and on! But the one thing you will definitely experience is disappointment. Since the time we were put on this earth together we have been disappointing each other. Maybe your marriage is not the bed of roses you thought it would be, maybe your children do not bring home grades that are good enough by your standards. Your neighbor does not keep their yard nice enough, your boss is not understanding enough of the pressures you have...

The Cross of Saint Thomas
by Sharon King
How “global” is your knowledge about Christianity? North American Christians sometimes forget that our Christian brothers and sisters in other cultures may experience their faith quite differently but no less authentically. For example, did you know a community of Christians thrives amid the largely Hindu and Muslim cultures of India? Do you know the link between the Christian church in India and the Apostle Thomas (the “doubter)? Although scholars debate the details, a strong historic tradition holds that the Apostle Thomas traveled to India and founded one of the earliest Christian churches there. For many of us, our knowledge of India may be limited to what we learned from the movie Ghandi; but, the story of the “Saint Thomas Christians” warrants an epic film of its own...

Truth with Love
by Beckie Stewart
Ephesians 4:15, But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him, who is the head, even Christ.
We are told we are to speak the truth, and it should be done in love. The truth can be painful to receive, but when it is cushioned in love, the recipient is more apt to listen to the one instructing him. May we guard truth with Christ-like love in our speech toward others! We are told that the purpose of this loving truth is so that we will grow up in all aspects in regards to our relationship with Christ, because He is our head. Truth is not to be spouted off just to show off our knowledge but to be used to teach each one of us how to live in regards to our relationship with Christ. We are not to remain infants or invalids in our faith, but we are to mature.
When our ultimate desire is to help another grow in his walk with the Lord, love permeates from our thoughts, speech, and actions and therefore will be seen by the person open to receiving it. Evidence of a hardened heart is displayed by a person’s unwillingness to have another lovingly correct him. In our speech to others, we need to ask God to cushion all we do and say in His love and grace. Christ is the head of the church, and ultimately we will answer to Him for our thoughts, words, and deeds. Are you growing up in maturity in your relationship to the Lord or are you crippled and crippling others?~
